This Privacy Policy explains how SocialForge AI (“SocialForge”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our websites, web app, and related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use SocialForge.

1. Who we are

SocialForge is an AI-assisted content and publishing platform for businesses. It helps you create media and captions, schedule posts, connect social accounts (such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok), and publish content you approve.

2. Information we collect

Account and identity

• Name, email address, and authentication identifiers from our login provider (Clerk)
• Workspace / team membership and role
• Billing-related identifiers when you purchase a plan or credits

Business and brand data you provide

• Brand kit details (name, colours, logo, website, contact details, tone, location)
• Posts, captions, hashtags, schedules, and uploaded media
• Preferences such as preferred AI models or generation settings

Social platform connections

• OAuth tokens and account identifiers for platforms you connect (for example Meta/Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok)
• Page or professional account names and IDs needed to publish on your behalf

Usage and technical data

• Device/browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and diagnostic logs
• Product analytics events (for example feature usage) to improve the Service

AI processing inputs

• Prompts, brand context, and media you submit to generate captions, images, or video through third-party AI providers

3. How we use information

• Provide, secure, and improve the Service
• Generate and store content; schedule and publish posts you authorize
• Connect to social networks and call their APIs using tokens you grant
• Process payments, credits, and subscriptions
• Communicate about the Service (security alerts, product updates, support)
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

If UK GDPR / EU GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases: contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (security, product improvement), consent (where required, for example certain cookies or marketing), and legal obligation.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data with processors who help us run SocialForge:

• Authentication: Clerk
• Database / backend: Convex
• Hosting: Vercel (or equivalent)
• Payments: Stripe
• AI providers: for example xAI and fal.ai (and any provider you configure via BYOK)
• Social platforms: Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others you connect — only as needed to authenticate and publish

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the Service.

6. Social platform permissions

When you connect a social account, the platform’s own privacy policy also applies. You can disconnect accounts in SocialForge at any time; you should also revoke access in the platform’s app settings if you want tokens invalidated there.

We only request permissions needed to list your accounts/pages and create posts you schedule. We do not post without your scheduling or publishing actions in the product.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies and similar storage for authentication, session security, and core product functionality. We may use limited analytics cookies or similar technologies to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Retention

We keep account, workspace, content, and connection data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Access tokens are stored encrypted. After account closure or a verified deletion request, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage of social access tokens, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. Contact privacy@socialforge.ai to make a request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Children

SocialForge is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated in-product or by email.
